Walk for Home Manchester 2025

On Tuesday the 2nd of December at 6pm, join hundreds of walkers for an unforgettable 5km walk through the streets of Central Manchester, taking big steps to raise money and give families a warm, safe place to call home. 

Beginning at the Shelter Hub in Watson Street, you will walk through the bustle of Manchester’s central shopping streets, past the Alan Turing memorial, through the world-famous Piccadilly Gardens, taking in Shelter’s other hub in Swan Street and returning to the start point down the iconic Deansgate.

Surrounded by hundreds of other like minded Shelter supporters, this walk is perfect for families, friends, colleagues or even solo walkers if you want to do some good with your festive cheer.  Take in the Christmas lights, soak up the atmosphere and help make a difference this winter.

Complete the registration form, pay your fee to secure your spot, and choose your start time. It's the first step towards making a difference!

2. Gather your crew

You'll be joining lots of other walkers but why not sign up with friends and family? Together, we are stronger.

3. Start fundraising

We've got plenty of free resources and tips to help you kick off your fundraising journey. Begin by setting up your page on JustGiving and watch the support roll in.

4. Set your goal

Aim high! We encourage everyone to set a personal fundraising target of £100. If you're part of a team, challenge each member to raise the same amount. Let's make a bigger impact and raise vital funds to champion a fairer housing system for all.
