Walk for Home

10 December 2021

This winter, join a nationwide effort to fight the housing emergency - by doing your own walk for Shelter

Walk your way to fight the housing emergency

Wherever you are, take on Walk for Home this winter and join thousands of other walkers in the fight against housing injustice.

You can choose whether to walk 3km, 5km or 10km, and where you walk is up to you. It’s free to sign up and you can walk with friends, family or even just the dog!

Around the country people will be walking on Friday 10 December, but you can walk any time from 6-12 December.

The money you raise will fuel the fight for home. With your help, we’ll reform private renting, demand more social homes, and be there for anyone fighting housing injustice.

Why every step can make a difference

Last year there were 309,349 calls to our advice helplines.

But there are many more people who don’t know where to turn to for help. People living in unsafe or unfit housing. People with no permanent place to live.

Successive governments have failed to build enough social homes, the pandemic has seen evictions skyrocket and too many people are sleeping on the streets and even dying there.

The more you raise, the more people we can help.
